Ben is a writer, teacher, teacher trainer and conference speaker. He taught materials writing for many years on the online MATESOL program of the New School, New York. He has written two methodology handbooks for teachers: Language Learning with Digital Video (with Paul Driver) and Working with Images. For students, he has co-authored the coursebook series Evolve, Eyes Open/Uncover/Smart Planet and English Unlimited (all for Cambridge). He has just finished working on the creation of Evolve Digital: an online course combining independent learning with synchronous teacher-led lessons.
Viviane Kirmeliene has worked in the ELT field since 1994 as a teacher, academic consultant, editor, and content writer. She holds a BA in English and Portuguese from the University of São Paulo and the Cambridge ICELT. As an editor and writer, she has worked on several projects for publishers in Brazil and abroad, being one of the authors of Global Changer. She is interested in how content for students and teachers can be more diverse and reflect their realities.
Michael Tomlinson has been teaching English since 1989. He has worked in the UK, Turkey, Spain and Sweden, with students ranging from children to adults and from beginner to proficiency level. He is currently a teacher at Star English, Murcia. He has also led numerous teacher training talks and workshops in Europe, Central and South America and Asia. His publications include two seven level primary courses, Power Up and Kid's Box, both co-authored with Caroline Nixon. Michael and Caroline have also written a three level pre-primary series for Cambridge, called Pippa and Pop.
Caroline Nixon has been teaching English since 1983. She is the Director and Co-proprietor of a successful English school founded in 1989 in Murcia, Spain. With Michael Tomlinson, she has written Kid's Box, Power Up and Be Curious for primary, and Pippa and Pop for pre-primary. Together, they have also written six titles in the Cambridge Copy Collection: Primary Activity Box, Primary Vocabulary Box, Primary Grammar Box, Primary Pronunciation Box, Primary Communication Box and Primary Reading Box. Caroline gives teacher-training talks and workshops internationally.
Alberto Costa is a Senior Assessment Services Manager and has been working for Cambridge University Press & Assessment for seven years. He has a solid English language teaching background and has worked as a teacher, teacher trainer and academic consultant for 30 years, having also worked as a course tutor for the teaching qualifications CELTA and DELTA. His main interests include language assessment and continuing professional development for teachers.
Helen Kenyon is a Product Manager in the Schools, English team at Cambridge University Press and Assessment and has developed a wide range of English language materials from project-based courses to videogames. Helen is passionate about motivating young learners to develop lifelong learning skills in engaging and creative ways and to help Teachers truly enjoy their classroom experiences. She has visited and spoken to many Teachers and Educators around the world on topics particularly relevant to Young Learners such as integrated assessment and motivation. Elânia Francisca is a psychologist, master's degree holder in Sexual Education, and a doctoral candidate in Rights, Humanities, and other Legitimacies. She is a researcher in gender issues, sexuality, childhood, and adolescence. She is the founder of Espaço Puberê de Convivência e Saúde. In 2019, she received the Viva Award from Marie Claire and the Avon Institute in the Health category.
Mariana Ochs is a designer, journalist, and specialist in educational technologies. She is the coordinator of EducaMídia, the media education program at Instituto Palavra Aberta Institute. She holds a postgraduate degree in Digital Literacy from the University of Rhode Island and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Communication at ECA-USP. She is also a Google Innovator and Trainer, working on the training of educators and bridging the gap between school and digital culture. She is a co-author of the Guia da Educação Midiática, published in 2020, and since April 2023, she has been participating in the Proteção e Segurança nas Escolas na Perspectiva da Educação working group, under the Ministry of Education. As a speaker, author, and teacher trainer, she explores the role of creativity in education and the ethical and empowering use of media as a means of social inclusion and strengthening democracy.
Ana Carla Crispim is a Doctor of Psychology, specializing in psychometrics from the Graduate Program in Psychology at the University of Kent, United Kingdom, with a postdoctoral degree in statistical modeling for behavioral sciences at the Universidade de São Paulo. She holds a master's degree in Psychology from Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina and a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Universidade do Vale do Itajaí.
